Gearing up for their first manned spaceflight – claimed to be 5-7 years away – Iran announced its space agency has sent a monkey into orbit for the first time.
The Fars News Agency reported the monkey reached an altitude of 75 miles, then returned successfully.
However, as National Public Radio in the U.S. pointed out, the animal was said to be “alive”, but no mention if safe and sound.
He was probably extremely depressed when he found out he was back in Iran.
